This is the Say "No" to Drugs poster I made for a target audience of teenage boys.
Not only did I use a cartoon atmosphere in attempt to attract my audience, I tried to create a world out of this world.
I decided to make this "whole new world," as Johnny (the subject) said, stand out compared to Johnny's picture, who had apparently been faded out from this world, to depict he's died.
My logic behind the different texts was that the quote by the subject was full of character and enthusiasm - also contrasting his picture (difference between life and death) - and then constrasting the subject's friend who was quoting him, whose text is also in black and white. I tried to portray this as the friend (representing all the people in the subject's life) as having the life sucked out of them, now their friend's dead.
This is a photo I took of my friend, and all quotes and other text are made up by me. This is a fictional, but very possible, scenario, and I want to warn my audience it can happen to anyone, including them.
